In 1995, 8372 people were massacred in Srebrenica and their remains were scattered in mass graves. Since then, the institute ICMP (international commission of missing persons) is committed to recognize the bones found on the whole territory of Bosnia to return human remains to their families in a large collective funeral. Every July the memory of Srebrenica is renewed through a commemoration that lasts three days. On the first day the coffins are loaded onto trucks and taken to the cemetery in Visoko, the place of the first prayer. The trucks then move to Potocari (near Srebrenica), stopping before in Sarajevo and met a multitude of people. Come to Potocari, the coffins are laid and aligned in the warehouse where it all began in 1995. This photo "suspension" was taken in the warehouse of Potocari, when families are in a wait that seems a suspension, before they get the coffins and so can finally greet their loved ones. The second day is dedicated exclusively to the prayers of the families for their victims. During the third day there is the end of the commemoration by the great collective funeral, at the conclusion of which the families proceed to the burial in the large cemetery which is located in front of the warehouse of Potocari.
