My story so far ........

Joined The Planet in Johannesburg, South Africa on the 17th of May 1965. Spent my childhood in this country until the age of 12.

It was then when my parents decided to leave the country and return to Spain in search of new opportunities for the family. The city of Malaga was going to be the place of choice where I would live for some time. Interest in photography began at the age of 18 thanks to a Yashica 2000 Super. This camera, many books and magazines would give me the opportunity to submerge in the world of photography using self-tuition as my main tool.

My passion for photography was shared with windsurfing during many years. Serious photography would only start during the late 90's, participating in local contests and exhibitions but specially thanks to my many trips all over the world and a strong need to share feelings and moments experienced in such intense countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Morocco, South Africa, Kenya or Tanzania among others. It was from this moment on and with help from the recently introduced digital format that I would turn this passion into a creative profession, which had always been my dream.

In 2001  I went from windsurfing to Kiteboarding becoming a specialized photographer in this sport achieving cover shots on various international magazines. I currently collaborate with Canon Europe as well as advertising companies in Europe, Brazil, USA and South Africa. I have also worked on assignment for Sony BMG ( Spain ). Some of my other clients are Canon, Hallmark, Practical Photography, Google Chrome, Wild magazine, Travel Africa, Kiteboarding Magazine to name a few

I lived two exciting years in Cumbuco, a small fishing village in the north eastern state of Ceara in Brazil. I enjoyed this wonderful place along with my wife Alexandra and children Noah and Yannick. Cumbuco happens to be one of the best Kiteboarding destinations in the world, a fact that has worked to my advantage as it has helped me to develop my skills in Kiteboarding Photography. Since 2005 I live in Cape Town with my family which has grown thanks to my youngest son Khai. This new stage as far as photography goes has focused on the African continent concentrating in wildlife, landscapes and travel photography.

" The last 13 years of my life have been an amazing visual journey exploring the African continent focusing in Wildlife, Landscape & Travel photography. From the great plains of the Serengeti or masai Mara, to the floodplains of the Okavango or the harsh lands of the Kalahari to the summit of Kilimanjaro .... I have searched for the " Perfect Moment ". A moment where everything comes together ... Light, Timing and Emotions that create a memorable and forever lasting scene "

Establishing South Cape Images, a photographic safari company, has given me the opportunity to share my experience with other photographers from around the globe that are keen to discover the African continent and the creatures that inhabit it.
