Photo Print: Half Noise by Paulo Abrantes

This is a self shot made in an old and abandoned paper factory, now already completely demolished. I had been there a couple of times shooting, just because the "crashed" and ruined architecture was really amazing for some moody shots and also gave the opportunity to play with the huge scale of the buildings. This is a shot taken inside one of the main buildings and I was fascinated with all those big windows in that gigantic wall. I knew that maybe could look great in a frame, just because of the visual rhythm they create and because of the light/shadow play. The hard part is that my remote shutter is an old cable one and it don´t have a timer. I had to use the 10 seconds shutter delay of the camera, so I spent a lot of time doing "sprints" between the camera and the spot were I wanted to appear in the frame. After the processing work I just thought to give it an extra "twist" for the intended "dark mood" and I add a little distortion in both sides of the frame, keeping the "center of the atention" in the frame free of that distortion, to achieve some "magnet focus point" in the picture.
