Photo Print: Altered Course by Paulo Abrantes

This is a shot made near Lisbonīs city hall. There were some reconstruction work in the building on the left side of the street and they put that sign for pedestrians to go around the construction zone. The street in the background had that old beautiful buiding (a museum, in the same building of the city hall) with those big doors and windows closed. Itīs a very busy place always with many people passing by, just because itīs very near of other beautiful and old touristic zone in Lisbon, called Chiado. I thought to compose with these elements thinking about a straight geometric street picture with someone in the frame that could represent the link between the pedestrian sign and the background geometry. For that purpose I set the camera to burst mode and I stayed there for quite a while. The burst mode in the camera gave me more possilities to catch a person with the conected body language with the figure in the pedestrian sign. After many tries and many shots to many people passing by, this was the more satisfying picture for full filing my intentions for this photograph in this spot.
