Centro de Alto Rendimento de Canoagem do Pocinho. Vila Nova de Foz Côa ------------------------------------------------ High Performance Rowing Center at Pocinho, project Álvaro Fernandes Andrade (spacialAR-TE), an architect and professor at the Architecture Faculty of the University of Porto (FAUP) got the first place in the category of "New Building" the international award Ecola. Cited by FAUP, the jury highlighted "the elegance of form in how the design integrates the landscape," even stating that "the composition formula in the exact amount of geometric shapes remaining 'subtle.'" Created in 2000 in Germany, the Ecola (which stands for European Conference of Leading Architects) combines an international architectural competition and a conference. The prize is awarded every two years in two categories: "Remodeling, Renovation and Conversion" and "New Building". The prize award ceremony will take place on 26 September in England, under the Ecola Conference 2015. They were to contest 150 projects from 13 countries. The design for the High Performance Rowing Centre Pocinho had already received a special mention in Architizer A + Awards 2015.
